You will no doubt be aware that all schools in England have been directed to switch to remote learning with immediate effect. School will remain open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children tomorrow. I attach a link to the most recent version of the critical worker and vulnerable children list for your information.
Tomorrow I will be sending a survey for you to complete to indicate if you feel you meet the criteria and if you will be requesting a place at school. I would really appreciate a response to the survey by the end of the school day to give me the evening to confirm numbers and finalise arrangements to be in place for Wednesday.
I'm sure you can appreciate the timing of the directive leaves little time for planning, so I would ask where possible (and as an interim measure) that those parents who believe they are eligible for a place to only send their child into school tomorrow as a last resort. We would never not support those families who need us but the less children we have in school tomorrow the more time we can work together as a staff to finalise arrangements to be in place from Wednesday onwards to support all children; those in school and those working remotely. Please be assured there will be remote learning available for all children from tomorrow via Seesaw and Evidence me. Again I would just ask for your patience with this first thing as there is quite a lot to sort!
On a slightly separate matter, I have been informed this evening of a confirmed case within the school kitchen. No child will be classed as a close contact so therefore there is no requirement for anyone to self isolate linked to this case. This does mean that for tomorrow any vulnerable children or children of critical workers attending school will require a packed lunch from home.
I will be in contact again tomorrow, if in the meantime you need to contact me, please do so on email@example.com
Thanks for your continued understanding and support.
With very best wishes
