Year 3 Burwardsley Residential
Year 3 had a fantastic time in Burwardsley. The children were a real credit to the school and their behaviour was complemented upon by several people both at Beeston Castle and on our long walk back to Burwardsley Education Centre. At Beeston Castle, the children explored the castle ruins, draw a 360 degree observational drawing and took a sneaky peak at the Bronze Age Roundhouse, which is currently being built by volunteers. After Beeston Castle, we began our long walk back to Burwardsley. The children were amazing and they were very excited to get back to select their beds for the night. That evening they visited the Iron Age Roundhouse, played on the adventure trail, played football and sung songs around the campfire and toasted marshmallows.
Day two started early (6am) and the children were up, dressed, packed and beds were stripped by 8am, They then took part in in activities such as pond dipping, orienteering, Forest School and den building. It has been a pleasure to take Year 3 on their first residential.
