Rewards
House Reward System
All our children and staff are split into house teams. We celebrate our school values of Working together, Excellence, Caring, Aspirational, Role models and Embracing change as our children work hard within their house team.
Regular events such as September 2024's Den Building competition and annual sports days encourage team work and healthy competition. In class, children are awarded house points linked to personal excellence and showing the Grappenhall Heys Way (linked to the behaviour curriculum).
"I like being in my house because everyone on our team supports us when it's out turn." Summer, Year 3

Celebration Certificates

As a class, our children work towards a group treat as they complete their class reward tree, All adults in school can give a whole class a reward. Once the tree if full, classes model the British value of democracy and vote to chose a class reward.

Head Teacher's Award
Children can receive a Headteacher's award for anything. They may take an extra special piece of work to Mrs Jackson, who will congratulate them and present them with a very special golden sticker.

Progress Postcards
These awards are sent home to two children per class half termly, they are chosen by the class teacher and based on excellent personal progress in school that half term.

Behaviour and Rewards in Early Years
Children in Reception have a weekly Celebration Assembly to celebrate their achievements. In both Nursery and Reception, two children are given Special Mentions and one is given the cuddly class pet to take home. The children write a diary of the class pet to share with the children in their class in school.
During lessons, children are rewarded with stickers linked to our behaviour curriculum and in Reception, we have designed a special sticker for those who complete all their learning challenges that week. Our children are praised publicly for excellent behaviour and following our behaviour curriculum.

Cl
Spelling Awards- Children have a small spelling assessment each term and they are awarded a certificate based on their result.
