Schools are responsible for a significant amount of public expenditure.  Every year, our financial data records are published and are viewable by schools, and members of the public, on a national website.  This can also be used to compare information between schools, locally and nationally.

Impact and Sustainability

The PE and Sport Premium continues to have a positive impact on the quality, range and accessibility of PE, physical activity and sport at Grappenhall Heys.

During 2025–26, funding has been used to:

  • develop staff confidence, knowledge and skills through high-quality CPD and working alongside specialist coaches;

  • provide pupils with a broad range of high-quality PE, sport and physical activity opportunities;

  • increase opportunities for pupils to take part in extracurricular sport and physical activity;

  • provide opportunities for pupils to participate in competitive sport and School Games activities;

  • purchase appropriate equipment and resources to support high-quality PE provision;

  • ensure that opportunities are inclusive and accessible, with particular consideration given to pupils with SEND or long-term medical conditions, disadvantaged pupils and girls.

Impact

Investment in specialist coaching and professional development has continued to strengthen staff knowledge, confidence and competence in teaching PE. Working alongside specialist staff enables teachers to develop their own subject knowledge and pedagogical skills, supporting improvements in the quality of PE provision across the school.

Pupils have access to a broad and inclusive range of physical activities, extracurricular opportunities and competitive sport. Funding supports the school in reducing barriers to participation and ensuring that opportunities are available to pupils with different needs and from different backgrounds.

PE and sport continue to have a high profile across the school, supporting pupils' physical health and wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and enjoyment of physical activity.

Sustainability

Our approach focuses on creating improvements that can be sustained beyond the period of funding. Investment in staff professional development and opportunities to work alongside specialist coaches builds expertise within our own staff team, enabling high-quality PE teaching to continue in future years.

Equipment and resources purchased through the premium provide a longer-term benefit and support the continued delivery of a broad and ambitious PE curriculum.

We will continue to review participation and provision to identify groups or individuals who may benefit from additional opportunities or support. This will help us to maintain an inclusive offer and ensure that PE, sport and physical activity remain an important part of school life at Grappenhall Heys.
