Grappenhall Heys Community Primary School is committed to prioritising and supporting the positive mental health and wellbeing of our pupils, our staff and our families.
The programme myHappymind is hugely important in supporting our pupils to develop strategies from a very young age to promote positive mental health, resilience and self-esteem.
Since the introduction of this scheme, we have seen a huge difference in the awareness and understanding the children have around their mental health and the mental health and wellbeing of others. We are passionate about delivering a curriculum which empowers children to identify and use what the have learnt in myHappymind sessions to identify and regulate their feelings.
|
All of our pupils, from Nursery to Year Six, participate in a weekly myHappymind session. This is usually delivered at the start of the school week so that the thinking, strategies and foci can be implemented by children across the school week. Pupils will work through several units of learning.

myHappymind - At Home
Our parents and families are instrumental in supporting their children's mental health. So that we can promote and apply the same strategies at home as in school, we have shared the myHappymind app with our parents. This enables the language, module foci and approaches to be mirrored at home and further embeds our teaching and learning.

In addition, parents can read in depth on the origins and thinking behind this educational approach in the founder's book, 'My Happy Mind'.
