Grappenhall Heys is an outstanding and popular community primary school, situated in South Warrington. We have wonderful well-motivated pupils, an enthusiastic and committed staff and Governing Body, inspirational senior leaders, supportive parents and strong links with the community.

The school is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic teaching assistant, who is able to support teaching and learning throughout school and is willing to take part in the life of the school.

The role will involve supporting a KS2 child 1:1 and some small group and classroom support. Level 2 – Fixed term from as soon as possible to 31st March 2027 (with the possibility of extending).

T​his role is a full-time position but a part-time candidate may be considered.

Salary: Grade 4 SCP 6-7 pro rata, post is Monday to Friday 8:45am – 3:15pm (30 hours per week)

Applications are welcomed from enthusiastic teaching assistants who:

  • can work alongside teachers and other support staff to support and develop the literacy and numeracy skills of pupils
  • have an ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with the pupils, parents and staff
  • have experience of working with children with specific needs
  • are able to work as part of a team
  • demonstrate strong behaviour management skills in line with school policy
  • follow school policies and procedures – safeguarding, welfare, health and safety and data protection
  • undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
  • support the teaching of a curriculum that allows pupils to achieve and make progress
  • be a patient and understanding champion of vulnerable pupils

The posts also include pastoral care duties including lunchtime pupil support.
