Admissions to Nursery

Our Nursery is open to children over the age of three on a full-time or part-time basis.

We provide a happy, safe and stimulating learning environment, led by a qualified teacher, where every child will be given the best possible opportunities to achieve their full potential. We believe in nurturing the interests and needs of pupils as individuals and enjoy getting to know the families of the children who attend our Nursery. The maximum number of children that we can accommodate in our Nursery is 52 and we work 1:13 adult to child ratio.

At Grappenhall Heys, Nursery sessions are available 8:45am – 11:45am and 12:30pm – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Our Nursery is open term time only and is closed for teacher training days A full-time place is for 32.5 hours per week. Children are welcome to attend on a part-time basis, but we recommend attending the setting for 5 sessions (15 hours) per week to help the children to settle in. For further information please read our Welcome Guide to Nursery. Additional, wrap-around childcare can be accessed through our onsite Link Club.

We are delighted to offer parents the opportunity to see our school during a normal working day.  To arrange a visit or discuss a place, please call the school office on 01925 212540.

Nursery Admissions

We welcome applications for our school Nursery. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a Nursery admission. We offer nursery provision for three- and four-year-olds and, if a place is available, children may be admitted to our Nursery once they turn three. Our admissions arrangements ensure that children and their parents / carers are able to spend time in their new setting and get to know our staff before starting. Further details and individual admission arrangements will be confirmed upon confirmation of a place.

Government childcare funding commences the term after your child turns three. Please click on this link for further information on what you and your family are entitled to.

For children staying all day, parents may provide a packed lunch from home, or a hot school meal made in our school kitchen can be purchased for an additional charge. Children are offered a healthy snack in the morning and afternoon.

Details of current availability, and more information, is available from the school office, by contacting Mrs Harper on 01925 212540 or by emailing the school office
